Made In Vietnam Zine
What is a zine? - A zine (/ziːn/ ZEEN; short for magazine or fanzine) is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier. Zines are either the product of a single person, or of a very small group and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation.
We wanted to start a platform for people who create in Vietnam, whatever their format or creative background - artists, photographers, performers, writers, poets, makers, musicians - all are welcome.
We are looking for contributions related to or created in Vietnam. This is a community project that aims to support creatives like ourselves through an affordable art book. Our finished zines feature work from throughout Vietnam in different formats. All the zines are printed locally and bound by hand.
We will never sell them for higher than 200k to ensure they are available for everyone.
If you would like to purchase our zines send us a private message or email the address above.
Once released we host several events in both the North and South, inviting
everyone to create their own content and learn more about zine culture.
We often display our collection of over 400 zines from the Hanoi Zine Library at our release events.
We donate copies of 'Made In Vietnam' to art libraries, galleries and venues. By distributing our zines we are putting our contributors work directly into the hands of curators, organisations and directors. This enables you to build an audience here in Vietnam and share what you create. We also encourage people to take the zines and share them overseas. This is a self funded project, so all we ask is for you to share your work and ideas with us.
